August Newsletter

Keeping up on changes and updates of online marketing can be a challenge. Here are some tips from the August Newsletter to help you stay in the know and on track.

Twitter Vs. Facebook

In three months, Twitter's growth has remained flat, sitting at 328 million monthly active users, the company reported on Thursday as part of its quarterly earnings release. Meanwhile, Facebook continues to see great growth. As a business, you need to be where the people are. IF you want Twitter, you can automatically send all your Facebook posts to “Tweets” on Twitter. It’s the easy way to be on Twitter without having to work at it.

Video

The average amount of time viewers spent watching video ads has increased by 19%, viewability saw an increase of 20%. On Facebook, you can directly upload a video and you can use the SAME video on a YouTube channel - thereby increasing your online presence. You can easily add video to your monthly program - just talk with me about ideas.

Important Announcement

Google just announced the ability to post and that post will be live for 7 days.

The Google Business Listing is free to claim and I will make you a manager as well to the page.

Your listing appears right when people are searching for your business or businesses like yours on Google Search and Maps.

So, when you search for a business and see that box pop-up on the right hand side, that is the Google Business Listing. Your hours, photos, links to your website, etc. can all be added.

Shopping from Facebook

If you are retail, you can now create a “Shop” tab on Facebook. Customers can check out using PayPal or Stripe right from FB. Or, you can send them to your store online. Here is a snapshot. Item photos, pricing and even shipping and tax can be added.

BTW - Instgram is owned by Facebook and when you do a paid ad on Facebook, you can chose to add Instgram to the purchase.

BEWARE - if you are doing a Boost - it automatically is going on Instgram under your brand. Not that it is an issue but if you have an Instgram account, sync it to your FB account.

Reviews

You likely already know how important reviews online are for your rankings. Whether it be your Google+ Business Page or Facebook - or just monitoring what is being said, they are becoming increasingly popular and tougher to manage.

I have partnered with a review program to help make the process easier. Here’s how it works:

  1. Ask your customer to go online to a special page on the web designed just for your business

  2. The customer is asked to rate how likely they are to refer your business to a friend and to comment on their experience.

  3. Poor customer experiences are captured privately so you can follow-up with the customer to resolve their issue.Customers that rate you 3 stars or higher will be asked to publish their review on Facebook, Google or Yelp. (or over 40 review sites like Google, Facebook, Trip Advisor and industry review sites.)

  4. Positive reviews will also be placed on your website automatically

  5. The program will MONITOR online review sites and alert you to new reviews posted on your business so you can respond.
